Pre-conference event at “Kyoto-Station lab”
We are pleased to announce that on June 30, before the welcome reception, we will have a public pre-conference event at the East Square of Kyoto Station, a place that is used for communal activities. From 2.30pm we will introduce the purpose of the place, as well as provide comments on Kyoto Station, “overtourism” and its impact on local public transport. In addition, Prof. Masashi Kawasaki of Kyoto University, will present about “Creating landscapes that harmonize with Kyoto’s natural environment: The construction of Shugakuin Imperial Villa”. After the talk there will be a professional dance performance.
Please find here a description of how to get to the venue. Registration for this event is not needed, but we would like to inform that there are a maximum of 100 seats available (plus some standing capacity). For our rough estimation as to how many would like to join, we encourage you to fill in your name here.
After the event there is enough time to move to Gion for the welcome reception. Note that transport will not be provided by the conference.
